Output Format Basics
Say the shape you want — a table, three bullets, JSON, a 50-word paragraph — and you get it. Leave the shape open and you get whatever the model defaults to.

How it works: tap, pick, link or reorder — then see exactly why. Perfect rounds build a streak for bonus points. 75% passes.
What you'll learn
- Shape the output: Name the shape and the length. 'Best format' gives the decision away.
- Same facts, three shapes: Format lines are the most reliable instructions you can give. Use them.
- Fix the format line: A format instruction should be checkable: count, shape, length, start of line.
- A format block: Container → fields → length → style. Each layer constrains the next.
- Spot the format miss: Check outputs against your format line. If it drifts, restate it at the END of the prompt.
- Data for a spreadsheet: When a machine reads the output, ban everything that isn't the data.
